NEWS BRIEF: The first season of HBO drama The Newsroom will be available to own and stream though Tesco-owned VoD store Blinkbox in the UK from October 15 – “months” ahead of its DVD release.
The Aaron Sorkin drama will also be available on Blinkbox 30 days after it airs on Sky Atlantic. Blinkbox recently secured a similar deal for HBO comedy Veep and first partnered with the premium TV network in August, offering exclusive paid access to the second seasons of Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire ahead of their UK DVD release.
